Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Companion, AI mental fitness, and how cognitive behavioral therapy works in our platform.

Is Companion free to use?

Yes. Your first 14 days include full premium access with no credit card required. After that, you can continue for free with 10 messages a day, or upgrade to a paid plan for 100 messages a day, Claude by Anthropic, automated journaling, and voice-to-text.

How is my data kept private?

We keep your data to a minimum and store it on European servers. The AI only ever receives your message content, pseudonymously, never your name, email, or payment details, and your conversations are never sold or used to train AI models. Companion is GDPR-compliant, and you can export or delete your data any time from your settings.

Is Companion a replacement for therapy?

No. Companion is a supportive tool for daily reflection and mental fitness, not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional.

How is Companion different from ChatGPT?

Companion is grounded in psychological research and frameworks for mental fitness and development. It builds on your conversation history, maintains an automated diary, and guides you through structured reflection. Where general AI tools risk creating cognitive dependence, Companion is designed for cognitive and emotional betterment.

What languages does Companion support?

Companion works in over 100 languages. Simply write in your preferred language and it responds in kind, with no configuration needed.

Can AI mental fitness tools help with anxiety and stress?

Research on AI-guided cognitive behavioral techniques is encouraging, but Companion has not been clinically tested and makes no treatment claims. It applies CBT-style reflection to help you notice unhelpful thought patterns and practice emotional regulation. Companion is not therapy and not a replacement for professional mental health care, and it is not built for crisis situations. If you are struggling with anxiety or depression, speak to a qualified professional.

What is CBT and how does Companion use it?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the most widely studied framework in clinical psychology. Companion is not a treatment and does not deliver therapy. It applies CBT principles through structured self-reflection exercises, thought pattern analysis, and guided journaling to help you develop emotional resilience and mental clarity.

How does AI journaling work in Companion?

Companion automatically maintains a diary based on your conversations, tracking themes, emotions, and growth over time. Unlike traditional journaling apps, it actively guides your reflection with evidence-based prompts and helps you spot patterns in your thinking that you might not notice on your own.
